About Us
This site started off as a bit of a filler and some mild amusement. However over time things have changed and it has become so much more than that.
Authored by me, Richard, a man who was apparently not bright enough for top set English. Managing as part of the process to power my way to just about scraping a C at GCSE. Now, as time has gone on, and I have grown older, and much wiser. Consequently, I have grown to have a love of writing.
Having had a bit of a life changing moment back in 2021 I moved to Norfolk to be closer to family. With this has come a number of changes in life. I’m now calmer and happier and have redeveloped a love of the great outdoors I first had many years ago. I’ve also taken on a volunteer role outside of work that has broaden my horizons.
This change in focus has given me much to talk about. Coupled with a newly discovered love of writing this blog has gained some significant impetus as a consequence.
New Focus
Coupled with moving to a new area and wanting to get back outdoors I discovered a bit of a gap. If you search for ‘walks in Norfolk‘ a lot of them are VERY long at 20 miles plus. I love the outdoors but not that much. However, over time I have discovered many walks of a more appropriate length through visiting country parks and Forestry Commission sites amongst others. The website will now seek to share many of these to help others who find themselves in a similar situation.
The love of the outdoors then grew arms and legs in 2024. when I decided to convert a motorhome. The adventures of this are covered over on it’s own website. What that has helped do is spread my wings and find many more great places to visit.
We hope you enjoy the adventure. Norfolk (and Suffolk) and the rest of East Anglia too is full of lovely walks, with stunning scenery to take in. There is plenty to read on here and plenty to see and do outside. I shall keep adding walks to the site as time allows. At the time of writing this there are at least a dozen walks in East Anglia still to add. I also have many other places also planned to visit which will be added afterwards when I can offer a genuine first hand opinion.
